Looking at Aperture 3
by Graham Leggate on Feb.23, 2010, under Photography
I haven’t posted anything new for a couple of weeks. Life has been rather busy lately, especially since I had a little health issue which needed a small operation to fix. So I have been off my feet for the last 4 days, which has given me some time to post-process some pictures and have a good look at Aperture 3. My first impressions of Aperture 3 is, I’m really impressed. The control you now have with editing files in a non-destructive way is so much better and more advanced. I really like the Quick Brushes, they give you great control to wield magical digital editing in places that need it. Library management and labelling is heaps better and gives you greater flexibility to categorise images. I think that most edits can now safely be done in A3 without needing to flick over to PS. Now we just need the guys from Nik Software and Imagenomic to update their plugins to be 64-bit and I will be one happy camper.
Anyway, there’s plenty of Aperture 3 reviews around, best way is to download it and give it a whirl. Below are some pictures I have done recently. Most of them are some kiddies portraits and one is from a wedding we shot recently. All of these images have been processed the Aperture 3. I am Really loving this app.

Thanks. I have just ordered a canvas print of that one… Trying out Harvey Norman’s canvas printing whilst they are doing them at 40% off. Hopefully they are good, I suspect they probably aren’t as good as places like brilliant prints or fitzgeralds, etc. But hopefully for a cheapy they turn out half descent.

I’ve ordered a canvas too.
I am sure HN’s quality control is not all that great, but they are cheap so why not. I ordered mine on Friday and it is already printed and being delivered to Warwick for me to pick up.

Hahaha that is what I was about to say… James really shows your character in the second last picture.
James is a real cutie in the second pic good choice in picking that for the printers. Now Amelie is going to be jealous. Did you consider cloning out the rope though?
February 25th, 2010 on 9:42 pm
Yeah he’s a funny little man, like his dad! I did consider cloning out the rope, but I was to lazy too

hope your ok mate, don’t go dying on us!!
February 25th, 2010 on 9:45 pm
Hey CF! Yeah, doing OK. In a fair bit of pain, but the pain killers keep it at bay, most of the time. I have fallen into the trap of thinking it doesn’t hurt that much, so I won’t take as many pain killers, to then find my self in a world of pain. But doesn’t look like I’m going to die!
