It has been a while!
by Graham Leggate on Aug.24, 2010, under Photography
I have recently been pre-occupied with a few to many things! One of those things is re-hosting some websites. So this post isn’t of anything interesting, it’s more of a test to ensure the functionality of the blog is still there. Hopefully now that the other distractions are out of the way, I can focus a little more on making pictures rather than just taking them

This is for the family. The image below is of Amelie doing an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. She had lots of fun over the weekend and has been a little angel.
For the Family 2
by Graham Leggate on Dec.09, 2009, under Photography
Another family post. It’s that time of the year when things start to get exciting with the anticipation that Santa is going to visit those of us who have been good
Today at Amelies’ day care they had a special visitor, who put a huge smile on Amelies’ face… and James’s too.
For the Family

I thought I would post a couple of pictures of the little ones, since I don’t have any landscapes to post. Plus I’m sure the family in the UK would like to see some pics of Amelie in the pool and James at bath time
Blue Bottle Jellyfish?
by Graham Leggate on Sep.30, 2009, under Photography
Last week Amelie and I headed down to the beach to take some pictures and stretch our legs. To my surprise the beach was covered with Blue Bottle Jellyfish’s. There were hundreds washed up on the beach. It’s a sight I have never seen on a West Australian beach, so I was really surprised. I was a little worried that Amelie would touch one or accidentally come in contact with a tentacle. But all was ok. Here’s a couple of pictures.
A Long Way Home

Last Sunday we went for a wander around Star Swamp and took this shot of Amelie wandering a head. I quite like the contrast in colours and the shallow depth of field.

The next picture is just for some fun. I liked the detail in the bark and the contrast of the ridges. Anyway… gotta have some fun.

No New Landscapes
by Graham Leggate on Jul.26, 2009, under Uncategorized
With so much going on; the arrival of James 6 weeks ago, Amelie being unwell, the in-laws over from London, renovations on the house (hooray! All the rendering is complete, well nearly, except for 1 pillar, new gutters fitted, new fascia covers, new wardrobes, most of the bits which bolt to the outside of the house are on, new gates are on order, cedar ceiling installed in the portico and the plans for the new balcony and patio are in progress); there hasn’t been any time to get out and do any landscape photography. However I have still had the D90 out, but mainly focussing the kids. I have to give my wife a pat on her back… she has had to put up with the renovations and other stresses whilst also giving birth!
Anyway, here’s a couple of pictures, the first is of Amelie taken in the garden today… yes she is rugged up as if it is snowing… it was bloody cold out side today. The second picture is of James, taken a couple of weekends ago, when he was 4 weeks old.
Snaps!

I still haven’t tried any arty-farty pictures, but now we are able to get James milk drunk I should be able too
So in the mean-time I thought I would post a couple of snaps of Amelie and James.
What a week!
by Graham Leggate on Jun.19, 2009, under Uncategorized
This has been one week I never want to repeat ever again! The week started on a high with the birth of our son, James Graham, born last Saturday, but on Monday our world was turned upside down with Amelie needing to be admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH). I had taken Amelie to see the GP because she had a high temperature and a cough which didn’t seem to be getting any better, as it turned out, she had a bronchiole infection caused a virus. Amelie was in hospital for 3 days and so was I. Amelie was released yesterday to come home, however she is still under the care of PMH and is on oxygen all day, everyday. Each day we have 2 visits from a nurse to check on her healing progress and adjust her oxygen levels. Hopefully, if everything goes to plan she fill be fully discharged on Saturday and will be back to normal with the bottled O2.
On Friday Sue and James will be heading home from hospital. I’m really looking forward to the weekend to get our family back together again.
Anyway the picture below is of Amelie in PMH, taken on my Nokia 6110. Hopefully I might get a chance to try my hand at some arty-farty baby portraits like these by Kelly Ryden over the coming weeks.
Nikon D90 Video
by Graham Leggate on Jun.08, 2009, under Uncategorized
Well, between renovations and the family getting the flu, I haven’t had much of an incling to get out to do some new photo’s. So I thought I would take a gander at some the video taken on the D90, and put together a little video, which is mainly around Amelie. I haven’t tried to seriously shoot any video on the D90, and most of the video shot is usually in really poor lighting conditions. But any way I scraped something togeth in iMovie on the Mac.
