WA Boab

by Graham Leggate on Mar.28, 2010, under Photography

With recent event’s, I had fallen behind on reading many of the blogs I usually follow. Like usual, Mark S is posting like a machine. I’m not sure if that man sleeps! Anyway, he has posted some images of Boab trees in the Kimberly, so I thought I would dig up this picture, which was taken at Broome’s Town Beach.  A few of my mates have seen this image, it’s one which hangs proudly at the end of a hallway at home.

Hong Kong

by Graham Leggate on Jan.10, 2010, under Old Gems

This is post is actually for some friends who are in HK at the moment, on yet another holiday! (yes, I am jealous!) I have been busy trying to get my photo library back in order after I magically ended up duplicating around 7000 images which resulted in a library which was a bit of a mess! Anyway, whilst sorting the library out, I came across from pictures from HK from 2002. So I thought I would post a few travel street/life photo’s to give my friends some inspiration to capture some candids.

Nothing new to post

by Graham Leggate on Oct.18, 2009, under Photography

Things have been a little too busy recently, so no new pics… except some entrants for the Canon Photo5 comp. Even for that I’m running late on getting my pictures ready :( Anyway, I thought I would post an image taken a while ago, just to have something posted.

The Great Wall

by Graham Leggate on Sep.13, 2009, under Uncategorized

I was going through my photo library, doing some more tidying up, and I came across the image below of the Great Wall, which I think is worth posting.

The Maldives

by Graham Leggate on Aug.30, 2009, under Old Gems

I was looking though some older pictures and came across some pictures from the Maldives which I thought I would post. The first makes it all look a bit miserable, but even when it’s raining, the place is still lovely. The second picture is the jetty leading to the spa treatments at the Hilton. If you haven’t visited the Maldives, best to get in quick whilst they are still here.

New Norcia

by Graham Leggate on Aug.25, 2009, under Photography

Around this time last year we took a drive out to New Norcia with a friend from Sydney. It had been a while since I had been out there, and to be honest, after arriving in New Norcia I thought; “Why did we come?” Anyway, we had a fun time and a nice lunch. We then headed to the New Norcia Bakery in Mount Hawthorn, because there wasn’t much of a selection in New Norcia! The picture below was spotted as we left New Norcia, so back we went to take a very quick picture. I really like the contrast in colours.

Whitehaven Beach

by Graham Leggate on Aug.24, 2009, under Old Gems

Whilst looking though some older photo’s, I also found this one of Whitehaven Beach, taken from the lookout where all the tourists go. The beach is just lovely and plenty of baby reef sharks and rays darting about in the shallows. Time for a holiday I think!

Sails Up

by Graham Leggate on Aug.23, 2009, under Old Gems, Photography

Here’s an image I took a few years back whilst sailing around the Whitsunday’s on a 54 foot timber Schooner, called the Schooner Friendship. I thought I would use the original image as a test image to try out some post-processing based on a technique from Christian Fletcher.

Tasmania Forest Re-Visited

by Graham Leggate on Jul.08, 2009, under Uncategorized

I have a few images of a forest opposite Cradle Mountain Lodge which I have never been happy with. The photo’s I have don’t appear to represent how the forest looked the day I photographed it… actually I have the same problem with a few images from St. Helens in Washington too. Anyway, I thought I would try re-processing one of the images from Tasmania. I think one of the main problems is the white balance settings. So with a little bit of processing I feel this looks a little closer to how it looked the day I took it.

HDR Take 2…

by Graham Leggate on Mar.29, 2009, under Old Gems

I’m still sorting out my library of pictures in Aperture, so from time to time I come across pictures which I think worth showing, The image below was taken down in Esperence a few of years ago, and I had bracketed many of the shots. So I thought I would attempt another HDR. So here it is.
